Roadside Assistance
Have you ever experienced any of these?
- You have a flat tire and aren't able or dressed appropriately to mount the spare
- You thought you had enough gas, but you ran out 10 miles from the nearest station
- You wake up to find you left the lights on and the battery is dead
- You shut the car door and at that exact instant, you realize you have just locked your keys inside the vehicle
- In an ice storm, your car slides off the road and won't go anywhere until it is winched out
When these things happen at home, they may be a nuisance, but when they happen in an unfamiliar vehicle in an unfamiliar locale, it can become an unsafe situation.
Protection Package
For a small daily charge, you are covered for any of these common road hazards:
- Tire damage and spare tire change service
- Jump Start
- Keys locked in vehicle
- Out-of-gas fuel delivery, up to 2 gallons
- Towing up to 25 miles (additional miles are charged at $4.00 per mile)
- Winching a stranded or stuck vehicle
When you operate the vehicle in accordance with the Rental Agreement, there are no charges if any of the above services become necessary, and Maine Rent A Car will make no claim against you or your insurance provider for those items. If any services become necessary as a result of an accident, you may be responsible for those charges.
If you choose not to purchase the protection package, Maine Rent A Car will arrange roadside assistance on a best efforts basis during normal office hours. You may be responsible for any charges that are not covered by other protection options. The fees vary by service provided, region, and distance traveled. Most services fall in the range of $100-$150.
